SOLD OUT Make a Wire Hen
April 20 at 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Cost: £80
We are very sad that Chris Moss who has run so many popular wire workshops here over the last few years has decided to retire, and we wish her well.
Her mantle is going to be taken up by Richard Gibson, who has agreed to run some wire workshops here in 2026. You will be able to meet him on this full day workshop where he will teach you to make a wire hen, perfect as an extra feature in your garden.
Wire sculpture courses provide the opportunity to learn and develop new artistic skills. You’ll gain proficiency in working with wire, tools, and techniques for shaping and assembling wire sculptures, all under the guidance of an expert. The workshop will be suitable both for beginners to wire sculpting and to more experienced wire wrkers who enjoy adding to their collection of wire sculptures.
Wire sculpture is a unique and versatile form of art that allows you to express your creativity and imagination. It offers a three-dimensional medium for artistic expression, enabling you to create intricate and dynamic sculptures.
About Richard Gibson
Richard is the owner of Wold Wire Sculptures and his lifelong passion for nature and animals can be seen in his open wire designs, which help capture the light and energy of his subjects.
In his words: ” I have been lucky enough to try many different materials but it is ultimately wire that fascinates me. I get great pleasure and passion breathing life into, what is essentially, garden netting and have worked full time as a wire sculptor for the last ten years.”
You may have seen his work for sale at the Harrogate Flower Show or York Makers Market, but if not we are delighted to announce that he will be exhibiting (and selling) his sculptures in our garden in August. You can see more details here
