Dragonfly Society

We are delighted that the County Dragonfly Recorder and Chairman of  the Yorkshire Dragonfly Society Branch, Keith Gittens will be joining us again in 2026.

Although it is a little early for dragonflies, if it is a warm day there may be damselflies over the pond. We frequently find dragonfly larvae during the pond dipping and last year we were delighted to find several dragonfly exuviae – the case that the larvae leave behind when the adults emerge.

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about these colourful insects and where in Yorkshire you might be able to see them.
