June – Landscapes and Seasons – Elaine Lawrenson
Elaine Lawrenson is as thrilled as we are that she will be holding her first solo exhibition in our Tea Room this June.
Her loose, expressive style is rooted in her observations of natural landscapes and seasons. Autumnal woods, meadows, wild moors and colourful garden blooms inspire her to paint. She works in watercolour, mixed media and acrylics – whatever medium she is exploring at the time.
Elaine has always enjoyed being creative and trained as a graphic designer in the 80s, then worked in Leeds. She worked as a Teaching Assistant in Selby whilst her family grew up. Today, as a local artist, she is a member of Selby Art Collective, joining with them to hold three successful local exhibitions. She has also enjoyed being part of Carlton & Snaith Art Group and has also exbitied at York River Art Market and in Boston Spa.
We are really looking forward to welcoming her to Stillingfleet Lodge.
