Artist in Residence for 2022
For the first time ever, we are delighted that we will have an artist in residence for 2022. Jeremy Ford is an artist, illustrator, demonstrator and teacher who was the course tutor for our popular watercolour art courses in 2021.
He will be visiting the garden throughout 2022 to capture the changing seasons in watercolours. The work he does this year will culminate in an art exhibition in our tea room in 2023. He commenced this project last autumn and the paintings attached were painted in the garden.
Jeremy has been a professional Artist and Illustrator since studying graphic design at Southport College of Art and illustration at Harrow College of Art in the 1970s, working on a wide variety of books, magazines, and greeting cards.
RHS Commission
His commissions have included work for The Royal Horticultural Society, Bradford Exchange Limited Edition Plates, RCA Records, The British Tourist Authority and American Express Travel Guides.
As a teacher he has made many DVDs on painting in watercolour, pastel, and gouache, and contributed to numerous art books. He can also be seen on the painting and drawing channel.
Always in demand as a teacher, we are delighted that he will be leading three workshops in the garden this year, dates and booking details are available here.
We are really excited by this project and are really looking forward to seeing how an artist captures the garden throughout the year.
We will have a range of art exhibitions throughout this summer, mostly in the tea room, but also a sculpture exhibition in the garden in August. See our 2022 Art Exhibiton list here.
