This is an opportunity to make your own wire hen under the expert guidance of Chris Moss. This course is perfect for those of you who have previously enjoyed the half-day courses making either alliums or small birds and now want to make something more ambitious. However, beginners are equally welcome.
Creating wire sculptures can be a deeply satisfying and fulfilling experience and you will leave with a lovely piece of artwork for your garden. If you are a beginner you be learning a new artistic skill. If you are more experienced you will be developing those skills and becoming more creative in the use of wire as an artistic medium.
All materials and tools will be provided.
Chris Moss
Chris uses both new and recycled metal materials to create her sculptures that are mainly of wild and domestic animals and birds. Each of her works are an original study of anatomy and behaviour and she gives a sense of life and energy to her subjects, ranging from small birds to life-size dogs and horses. This is the approach she will be sharing with course participants so that you can take your own unique sculpture home.
Regular visitors to the garden will have noticed some of Chris’ sculptures around the garden. Chris regularly exhibits her sculptures here in the garden during August and September and visitors love the extra interest they bring to the garden.
All courses include entry to the garden plus welcome coffee and biscuits. Unless stated, materials are provided and you will leave each workshop with plenty of reference information.
