Tomatoes and Other Tips for Greenhouse or Polytunnel Growing
September 23 at 10:00 - 12:30
Join Tony Chalcraft for a look at how to get the best out of greenhouse, polytunnel or other protected growing space all through the year. As well as focusing on commonly grown crops such as tomatoes, this course will look at more unusual greenhouse fruit and veg, both those for summer cultivation such as aubergines and those for the colder months such as healthy winter salads.
We’re delighted that Tony Chalcraft will be joining us again in 2020.
Using organic methods, Tony has grown just about every type of fruit and vegetable that can be grown in the North of England. He specialises in having fresh produce all through the year, mainly grown outside, but also using greenhouses and a polytunnel. It is this expertise that make his courses here so popular.
All workshops will mainly be held indoors, but you will get an opportunity to see the vegetable garden here at Stillingfleet Lodge as a reference point.
Following the first course in March this year, we received this testimonial:
“What a great morning listening to Tony and Jane share their vast knowledge about veg growing. I loved their approach in a relaxed, friendly and so informative way. I have dabbled at veg growing for years so not quite a novice but I learnt so much. Great venue, well organised and booked on 3 more, thank you”
All courses include entry to the garden plus welcome coffee and biscuits. Unless stated, materials are provided and you will leave each workshop with plenty of reference information.
Please note that workshop fees cannot be refunded if cancelled less than 7 days prior to date of workshop.
