The Buzz About Pollinators – Mead & Honey Tasting

Bruno Hanneman tending to his bee hives

July 12, 2023 at 18:00 - 20:00

Cost: £20

Pollinators are vital to the environment and here at Stillingfleet Garden we encourage pollinators with a wide range of plants and by providing them with habitats to help them overwinter.

Not only should pollinators be welcome in any garden, but bees provide us with beeswax and honey, which can be used in a variety of ways.

This informal evening will give you the opportunity to walk around the garden to see which of our flowers are attracting pollinators. Garden owner Vanessa will be on hand to advise you about the best plants to attract bees to your garden. If the weather is warm the pollinators should be making a real buzz.

Mead and Honey Tasting

We are delighted that local bee-keeper, Bruno Hanneman, will be joining us to give a brief introduction to bee-keeping and then guide you through a honey and mead tasting session. The honey and mead is made from his own bee hives.

You can find out more about Bruno, his bees and the products he makes here.

All courses include entry to the garden plus welcome coffee and biscuits. Unless stated,  materials are provided and you will leave each workshop with plenty of reference information.

Workshop fees cannot be refunded if you cancel less than 7 days prior to date of workshop.
