MAY – Plant Portraits by Sara Sault

Our May Art in the Tea Room exhibition features the stunning work of two very different artists. Sara Sault will be exhibiting here for the first time her stunning plant ‘portraits’  aim to evoke a sense of stillness and calm.

Her photographic work will be complemented by Linda Taylor’s beautiful paintings of birds on feathers. We are delighted that she is returning to exhibit here as her exquisite work is always popular with our visitors.

Sara Sault

Sara trained in Textiles and Surface Design as a mature student and as a development from this found herself increasingly drawn to photography. With a longstanding love of plants and flowers she uses photography as a means of connecting with the natural world.

Her working method is a process of mindfulness, a way of slowing down and experiencing a deep appreciation of the beauty of nature, and using this to explore details of natural form. In this way she has created this collection of delicate and ethereal plant ‘portraits’, aiming to evoke a sense of calm and stillness. Removing the colour from the images and using a soft monochrome allows the natural shape and form of the flowers to show through.
