Growing Cut Flowers

Growing cut flowers with Elizabeth Jackson

March 20 at 10:00 - 12:00

Cost: £48.00

Growing cut flowers in your own garden or allotment is an excellent way to make the most of your garden – and to bring the best of the garden into your house. We are delighted that Harrogate-based flower grower Elizabeth Jackson will be joining us again in 2024 to lead a hands-on course which has sold out in previous years.

Enjoy planting some flower seeds in pots so that you can start your own cut-flower garden at home. Soil, seeds and pots will be provided.

In addition the course will include: choosing the best varieties of flowers to grow for cutting; propagation; growing on; feeding; watering; supporting plants; picking the flowers and planning the yearly cycle of cut flower growing.  This will give you your own flowers to cut for months and months.

Flowers From the Garden

Elizabeth’s business is Flowers from the Garden, based in a three acre site in Harrogate where she grows a wide-variety of flowers, both annuals and perennials, plus foliage specifically to supply British grown cut-flowers to the public and florists. She is a member of the award-winning membership association, Flowers from the Farm, championing artisan growers of seasonal, scented, sustainable British cut flowers.
