Growing Beautiful Cut Flowers – CANCELLED
April 8 at 10:00 - 12:00
Growing your own cut flowers is a great way to get the most out of your garden – and to bring the best of the garden into your house.
In this workshop you will cover choosing the best varieties to grow, propagation, growing on, feeding, watering, supporting plants, picking and making bunches and planning the yearly cycle of cut flower growing so you have flowers to cut for months and months.
Change of tutor.
Unfortunately, due to a major operation, our regular cut flower expert, Mary Swan, will not be able to lead the course this year. We wish her well.
We are delighted that Meryl Clarke has been able to step in at late notice to lead the course. Meryl is a florist and flower grower based in the Calder valley. All her bouquets and flower arrangements sold from Nodding Violets are made from seasonal cut flowers, many from her own garden in Sowerby Bridge.
“I live for flowers: growing, planting, arranging, smelling, admiring and obsessing over flowers! There’s no greater pleasure in life, for me, than being surrounded by flowers.”
All courses include entry to the garden plus welcome coffee and biscuits. Unless stated, materials are provided and you will leave each workshop with plenty of reference information.
Please note that workshop fees cannot be refunded if cancelled less than 7 days prior to date of workshop.
