Greenhouse Growing All Year Round

This greenhouse growing course is for people with some gardening experience who have, or want to have, a protected growing space such as a greenhouse or polytunnel. The session will cover the basics of undercover growing, how to grow all the main summer greenhouse crops, especially tomatoes but also peppers, aubergines, cucumbers and melons. In addition, there’ll be a focus on how to get the best out of a greenhouse all through the year, including raising seedlings in spring and, especially, growing crops through the winter.

The course is most suitable for those with some under cover growing space, especially a good sized greenhouse or polytunnel.

Our regular organic vegetable gardening expert, Tony Chalcraft, is back for his final workshop here in 2023. He has grown just about every type of fruit and vegetable that can be grown in the North of England. He specialises in having fresh produce all through the year, mainly grown outside, but also using greenhouses and a polytunnel. It is this expertise that make his courses here so popular.

The workshop will mainly be held indoors using slides, photos and short handouts.  More detailed notes will be made available via email or Google docs.
