Wine and Nibbles in the Garden

Join us for a summer evening in the tearoom and courtyard garden where you can enjoy a glass of wine accompanied by savoury nibbles, followed by a wander around the rest of the garden.
The evening will start in the tearoom with your refreshments. Garden-owner Vanessa Cook will give you a brief introduction as to how the garden has evolved from being a family garden, through to opening the plant nursery 40 years ago this year to it becoming the multi-award winning garden that you see now. She will talk about the ethos of the garden and let you know some of the ways the garden, plant nursery and coffee shop are managed sustainably.
Before you have a leisurely wonder around the garden on what will hopefully be a mild summer’s evening, Vanessa will highlight some of the plants for you to look out for in the garden at this time of year. You will have a chance to soak up the tranquility of the garden, listen to the birds and admire the many different areas of the garden.
From the sound of running water in the formal Rill Garden to the rare lowland meadow which should be full of native orchids in June, there is sure to be something for everyone.
This is a lovely informal social evening where we aim to let you see the garden at its best.
All courses include entry to the garden plus welcome coffee and biscuits. Unless stated, materials are provided and you will leave each workshop with plenty of reference information.
