“We absolutely loved visiting this wonderful garden and nursery. We enjoyed looking at all the plants and trees as well as the pleasure of observing the chickens and wildlife, including seeing a woodpecker, lots of long tailed tits, coal tits, blue and great tits and a dragon fly. It was so inspiring and so nice to speak with the owners who are so knowledgeable and helpful.” Sarah, September 2019

“Beautiful wildlife garden. Much thought and planning has gone into the way the gardens are laid out and there are wonderful plants wherever you look. I particularly loved seeing so many fabulous sculptural seed heads and hips left on the plants, a different and equally beautiful display after the blooms have passed and a feast for the wildlife, wish more open gardens would do this. Very friendly and knowledgeable owner who was happy to answer questions and was a wealth of information on her plants.

The reason for my visit was to attend a vegetable growing course which was absolutely great. So much information and local knowledge passed on. I can’t wait to put it all to use in my own garden.” Fiona, September 2019

“The gardens are magnificent! Lovely to see the plants growing in ”freedom’, and so many insect-friendly ones in one place! There are some amazing trees with most interesting trunks and colourful bark. Awesome” Mrs Mercer July 2019

“Little oasis only a few miles from home which we have discovered. Lovely walk round the grounds of a beautiful house. The garden has an abundance of ideas I have taken away with me for my own garden and to use with my patients at work to use in our recovery college garden to help with clients recovery from mental health conditions” Janette July 209

“Excellent – was quite satisfied with my small cottage garden, until I came here and saw all the different varieties of my more common ones. Refreshing to see a ‘real’ garden and not something maintained by an army of gardeners. I love it.” – Linda

“We liked the flow of the gardens. The different elements of shade and light. Cosy areas for 5 minutes of ‘me’ time. Different types of sculptures, placed with care in ‘their’ part of the garden. A garden to visit at different times of the year.” – Marion

“It would be hard to improve on the wonderfully peaceful experience of visiting your garden. When I visit here other visitors always comment on the peacefulness. The eggs are the best that I have tried – so the only improvement might be to have even more hens. ” – Anna

Had a lovely personalized hands-on introduction to beekeeping. Tools, equipment, lifecycle, all explained and progressed to hive inspection, management, swarming and I feel it has helped me make a decision to further investigate this as a hobby. Thanks John. Excellent 10/10.
