Visitor Information

Welcome to Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens, you will find all the visitor information you need for an enjoyable visit to the garden below or in the video.

The garden, plant nursery and tea-room is open from 1st April to 30th September every Wednesday and Friday from 13:00 to 17:00 plus the first and third Saturday and Sunday (13:00 - 17:00).

In 2024 we have a slight change - due to a family celebration, we will be closed on the 1st and 2nd June, but open on the 8th and 9th instead.

Admission prices only apply to the garden. If you are visiting the plant nursery and/or tea room only entry is free.

The garden is now closed for the winter. You can see our dates for 2024 here.

We open at 1:00pm. If you arrive early, you are welcome to have a picnic or stretch legs in the car park, but we will be unable to admit you to the garden or nursery until the opening time.

We are sorry but dogs are not allowed in either the plant nursery or garden (except for assistance dogs). You are welcome to exercise your dog in the grass car park.

Accessibility

We have disabled parking next to the admission hut and wheelchair users can be dropped off closer to the garden entrance. The garden is flat, so most of it is suitable for wheelchairs and we can advise you on the best route to take to avoid a small amount of gravel.

There are plenty of seats throughout the garden. We do not have disabled toilets as there is a small step into the toilet area.

Our staff have been trained to be dementia friendly and we are proud to have been awarded the purple badge.

Group Visits

Groups of 15 people or more can book exclusive access to the garden outside normal opening times.

The price includes garden entrance and an introduction to the garden from Vanessa. Refreshments are available and cheese and wine can be arranged if booked in advance.

Our visit to your gardens.. was hugely successful. Even I did not realise what a magical place it would be. The work you and the family have put into the gardens, planting, and producing quirky areas is remarkable.  I noticed our members were amongst the plants for sale as soon as they saw them. I am sure some of them will be visiting again." New Waltham garden Club, June 2023.
